Our Crew believes that the children in our program are going to grow up and do great things. It’s our job to make sure that they know this. Something as simple as an encouraging note in their lunch, a friendly smile or high-five at school helps children gain the hope and confidence they need to succeed.

It started in the dark.
12:01 AM, New Year’s Day 2021. Grant McArthur clipped in and rode 21 km through the cold with one goal in mind: feed kids who needed a meal. The plan was simple. Ride 10,000 km. Raise $100,000 for Community Crew.
Five years later, Break The Cycle looks a little different.
46,773 km ridden. More than once around the planet. Canada to South Africa and back, nearly twice. 22 Everests of elevation climbed. 1,178 rides logged. 16 corporate partners standing behind the mission. And more than $818,000 raised to help feed children across Niagara.
But this was never really about the bike.
Every kilometre has been about the kid at school who doesn’t have a lunch. Every dollar raised has turned into a bag packed, a school delivered to, a child fed. That’s the only math that matters. $17.49 raised for every kilometre pedalled. Every one of those dollars going straight to the work Community Crew does every single day.
And now we’re $182,000 from a million.
A lead sponsor has committed $75,000 the moment we cross the line. Every gift right now moves us closer to triggering it. This is the last stretch of a five year ride, and we want to finish it together.
None of this happens without the people who said yes. The monthly donors. The one-time gifts. The partners who backed the idea before there was anything to back. The families who shared it. The riders who joined in. You built this.
So here’s the ask. Ride with us. Share the story. Help us close the gap.
Because every child deserves a meal. And every community is stronger when we show up for each other.
